Job summary

Senior Electrical Design Engineer at AECOM, based in Manchester with a hybrid work model. You will design MV/LV systems, produce protection schemes, and liaise with clients to deliver energy infrastructure projects across the distribution network. Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of British and DNO design standards.
• Experience in energy/power sector design environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out medium voltage and low voltage design to DNO standards.
• Develop Open and Closed Ring and Radial Feeder supply network solutions.
• Layout intake and distribution substations (MV/LV).
• Produce secondary protection and control diagrams and equipment schematics.
• Perform cable sizing, routing, and termination drawings (MV/LV).
• Model earthing grids and assess touch, step and transfer hazards.
• Interface designs for SCADA, auxiliary supply and metering.
• Prepare technical specifications and support procurement of equipment.
• Collaborate with external suppliers and clients.
• Contribute to LV/MV network studies and arc-flash considerations.
