Job summary

AECOM’s Transmission & Distribution team is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to the delivery of energy infrastructure projects. You will engage in MV/LV design, feeder network solutions, substations, and protection schemes across diverse sectors including private, industrial, and renewables.

You’ll work in a hybrid model with a global team, advancing designs, coordinating with suppliers and clients, and supporting design governance and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of British and DNO specific design standards.
• Experience as Trainee/Assistant Electrical Engineer or Graduate Training programme in Energy/Power sector.
• Understanding of Power Systems.
• Ability to work with internal and external parties in a collaborative culture.
• Experience in writing clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Medium Voltage and Low Voltage design to DNO standards.
• Provide Open and Closed Ring and Radial Feeder supply network solutions.
• Carry out Intake and Distribution Substation Layout design (Medium/Low Voltage).
• Produce electrical system studies for LV/MV network modelling and verification.
