Job summary

Southern Water is seeking a Senior EICA Engineer to provide technical leadership across water and wastewater projects. You will lead the development of engineering solutions, manage high-quality design deliverables and oversee design life cycles.

You will influence outcomes, mentor junior engineers and drive innovation while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage design programmes and promote cost-effective, whole-life engineering

Qualifications

• Experience leading and delivering engineering design projects in water or wastewater.
• Strong knowledge of EICA principles, design processes and industry standards.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of CDM and health & safety requirements.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
• Professional registration with IET or progress towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across water and wastewater projects.
• Lead production, review and approval of designs, calculations, and reports.
• Manage design programmes, resources and technical outputs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver outcomes.
• Resolve complex challenges and drive continuous improvement.
• Support project budgets and whole-life engineering solutions.
• Coach and develop Assistant and Graduate Engineers.
