Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior or Principal Consultant to lead environmental inputs for major transport infrastructure projects. You will guide planning applications, EIA work, and DCO support with a focus on delivering high-quality environmental outcomes.

You will collaborate with a diverse technical team, coordinate stakeholders, and contribute to business development, recruitment and project delivery while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• A relevant environmental degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Demonstrated progress toward Practitioner or Chartered Environmental Status with IEMA or equivalent.
• Familiarity with consenting processes for transport infrastructure projects (HRA, EIA, permits).
• Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Strong bid development, client relationship and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commitment to Health and Safety and inclusive workplace practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental inputs for transport projects including planning applications, EIA, and DCO support.
• Lead and contribute to meetings with clients, stakeholders and technical teams.
• Deliver high-quality environmental assessments and planning support across project lifecycles.
• Recruitment, bidding, project delivery and financial management responsibilities.
• Explore innovative techniques to improve environmental aspects of projects.
