Job summary

VVB Engineering is seeking a Document Control Manager to lead the document control function across the project, ensuring processes and systems are fit for purpose and consistently applied. You will manage the document control team, drive compliance with information management requirements, and act as the primary contact for CDE and EDMS matters.

You will work with project leadership, design teams, and external stakeholders to ensure document control supports effective project delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience in document control, with 2+ in management/supervision
• Knowledge of EDMS systems (ALIM, Asite, SharePoint, ProjectWise)
• Ability to lead teams and drive compliance in infrastructure projects
• Strong organisational and document control governance skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the document control team with clear direction and development
• Develop, implement, and maintain document control procedures and naming conventions
• Own and maintain the Document Management Plan and registers
• Oversee distribution of project documents to ensure latest versions are used
• Establish QA processes ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements
• Manage project filing structure and digital archiving per contractual obligations
• Liaise with project management, design teams, and clients (BBVS, HS2)
• Configure and manage CDE and EDMS platforms (Asite, ALIM)
• Act as SME in document control and information management, providing training
• Own EDMS system administration including user access and onboarding
• Drive continuous improvement in document control workflows
• Plan and conduct audits of systems and team performance
