Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to own deployment architecture and drive our Kubernetes platform maturity. You will be embedded with engineering teams, shaping and rolling out automation for CI/CD and production workloads.

You’ll manage day-to-day delivery across our on-premise estate with autonomy over guardrails and migration strategies, delivering value safely and rapidly to production.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for a people-first culture.
• Strong, demonstrable experience with Ansible: roles, inventories, vault, idempotency.
• Comfortable with Docker and Docker Compose in production environments.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Strong scripting ability: Bash and Python.
• Experience with GitOps tooling: ArgoCD or Flux.
• Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager or equivalent).
• Ability to think creatively within constraints and plan pragmatically; pragmatic, iterative delivery.

Responsibilities

• Utilise Ansible-based deployment automation to facilitate feature releases.
• Monitor application health within the cluster and drive post-mortems for deployments.
• Maintain deployment runbooks, docs, and self-service guides for onboarding and releases.
• Represent Engineering in platform design and shape self-service workflows and guardrails.
• Standardise configurations for ingress, RBAC, namespaces and secrets management.
• Drive containerisation and migration of workloads to Kubernetes, starting non-critical envs.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes deployments using Helm, ArgoCD, or similar tools.
• Create documentation for deployment templates and best practices for self-service.
