Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, is seeking a Senior Engineer (Development) in Birkenhead to lead major construction and connection projects from concept to completion.

The role requires a degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering and substantial delivery experience in utilities or construction, with strong project management and regulatory knowledge. Hybrid working and a competitive package are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; equivalent experience.
• Significant experience delivering major infrastructure projects in utilities/construction.
• Experience in route development, site selection, and consenting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of major construction, reinforcement and customer connection projects.
• Manage activities from concept through to construction delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Drive safe, compliant project delivery per regulatory and company requirements.
• Evaluate technical, commercial and environmental solutions for best outcomes.
• Manage risks, programs, budgets and stakeholder relationships.
• Promote innovation and operational excellence.
