Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, is recruiting a Senior Engineer (Design) for Wrexham/Llandudno. You will lead network design work up to 33kV, deliver customer connection solutions, and manage third‑party design approvals across licence areas.

A strong trading background in distribution Design is expected, with hybrid working options and a robust benefits package. The role focuses on planning, modelling, and delivering safe, cost-effective designs, while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience in a network design role.
• Knowledge of network construction and operational practices.
• Strong IT and system skills.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment and delivery of customer connection requests, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Produce and review network designs and quotations for new connections, reinforcements and alterations.
• Carry out network analysis and modelling to identify optimal technical solutions.
• Manage third-party Point of Connection and design approval activities across licence areas.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and promote safe-by-design principles.
