Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, is seeking a Senior Engineer (Design) to lead distribution network design for Wrexham/Llandudno. You will drive customer connection assessments, factor in regulatory requirements, create robust designs and quotations, and support safe-by-design practices.

You will mentor engineers and collaborate with customers, partners and internal teams in a hybrid, permanent role with a salary starting from £55,000 up to £82,500.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in a network design role.
• Knowledge of distribution construction and operational practices.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment and delivery of customer connection requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory and licence requirements.
• Produce and review network designs and quotations for new connections, reinforcements and network alterations.
• Carry out network analysis and modelling to identify optimal technical solutions.
• Manage third-party Point of Connection and design approval activities across the licence areas.
• Apply sound engineering principles to enhance network performance, safety and asset longevity.
• Identify and implement innovative technical, procedural and commercial solutions.
• Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe-by-design principles are embedded throughout all activities.
• Support and mentor less experienced engineers, graduates and trainees.
