Job summary

Ramboll in London seeks an Associate/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for high-profile data centre projects. You will oversee a team, coordinate with electrical counterparts, and drive technical delivery with a strong client-facing focus.

The role emphasises developing resilient cooling, ventilation, automation and allied systems, with emphasis on building physics, CFD and sustainable design. You will collaborate across disciplines to grow engineering competence.

Qualifications

• Qualified Engineer with a proven track record in the discipline
• Experience with mission critical systems in data centre or similar environments
• Engineering Council accredited degree or equivalent with ongoing professional registration
• Excellent communication and ability to simplify complex topics
• Interest in digital and parametric design tools

Responsibilities

• Lead Ramboll on Datacentre projects, manage the discipline and engineers
• Drive project delivery with minimal supervision on technical aspects
• Develop solutions using CAD, Bluebeam and BIM collaboration
• Complete detailed designs and supervise others' work
• Inspire confidence to strengthen client relationships
• Coordinate tasks to meet deadlines and allocate resources
