Job summary

Ramboll in the UK is looking for an Associate/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design delivery for data centre projects. You will work with the electrical counterpart, guide a team of engineers, and ensure high standards of client service and technical excellence.

You will contribute to cooling, ventilation, automation, and related systems, while developing an understanding of building physics, CFD, and sustainable design. A pathway to senior accreditation is available.

Qualifications

• Qualified Engineer with a proven track record in the discipline.
• Experience with mission critical systems within datacentre or similar industries.
• CIBSE/IET/IMechE accredited honours degree or an HNC with commitment to further education.
• Pursuing IEng or CEng status is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Interest in or experience with digital/parametric design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Ramboll on Datacentre projects, overseeing your discipline and coordinating engineers from complementary disciplines.
• Drive project delivery with minimum supervision on technical aspects.
• Use design production tools (CAD, Bluebeam, calculations) and collaborate with BIM technicians.
• Produce detailed designs and supervise teammates.
• Inspire confidence internally and externally to strengthen client relationships.
• Manage project delivery timelines and coordinate tasks to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate resource allocation as Mechanical lead on projects.
