Job summary

Ramboll Group is seeking an Associate/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design delivery on UK datacentre projects. You will guide a team, coordinate with electrical counterparts, and maintain strong client relationships while delivering high-quality, sustainable cooling and ventilation solutions.

Based in Scotland with flexible working options, the role involves fronting projects, applying CFD insights, and developing digital design approaches.

Qualifications

• Qualified Engineer with proven and demonstrable track record in their discipline.
• Experience with mission critical systems within the datacentre industry or similar industries with critical engineering aspects.
• CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree, or an HNC in an applicable discipline with commitment to continue with higher education.
• To have achieved or working towards IEng or CEng status.
• Excellent communicator with ability to make complex concepts simple.
• Interest in or experience using digital and parametric design tools.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead role representing Ramboll on Datacentre projects, leading your own discipline and managing engineers of a complimentary discipline.
• Drive project delivery using your own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of your discipline.
• Use design production tools to develop solutions (CAD, Bluebeam, calculations, collaboration with BIM technicians).
• Complete detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.
• Inspire confidence both internally and externally, and strengthen client relationships.
• Commit to and manage project delivery timelines.
• As project Mechanical lead, coordinate the tasks so all deadlines are met and allocate resource appropriately.
