Job description
Senior Data Analyst - Cybersecurity (Belfast)
About the Company

MCS Group are delighted to be partnering EXCLUSIVELY with a fast-growing cybersecurity business building modern security technology used by global enterprises. Their platform helps companies protect employee devices, detect potential risks, and strengthen overall security posture. Backed by strong investment and working with major industry partners, the team is expanding rapidly and building out high-impact technical functions in Belfast and across the US and Europe.

Locally, the Belfast office is focused on solving deep technical challenges – integration's, data analysis, research, APIs, and complex engineering problems. This is not a support environment; it's a hands‑on, product‑focused team with real ownership, visibility, and influence.

About the Role

This is a newly created role within the Research function, focused on exploring large cybersecurity datasets and generating meaningful insights for internal teams and customers. You'll translate raw data into clear dashboards, trends, and visual stories that shape product decisions, customer understanding, and real‑world security outcomes.

It's a hands‑on, high‑impact position with room to grow and the potential to shape a small function over time.

What You'll Do
  • Analyse large, complex security datasets to uncover patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Work closely with Research and Machine Learning teams to support ongoing investigations and product initiatives.
  • Build high‑quality dashboards, visualisations, presentations, and reports for both internal and external audiences.
  • Help teams make better use of data stored in SQL‑based systems.
  • Introduce modern tooling, techniques, and best practices for data exploration and storytelling.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to explain findings and guide decisions.
Who You'll Work With
  • Part of the Research function (across the UK, US and Europe).
  • Regular collaboration with the Head of Machine Learning and senior engineering leaders.
  • Direct line to the Belfast site lead.
What They're Looking For
  • Strong SQL and Python experience (core requirement).
  • Background working with security, behavioural, or large‑scale technical datasets is a major advantage.
  • Excellent data storytelling and visualisation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in an exploratory, research‑driven environment.
  • Someone who enjoys finding patterns, explaining complex information simply, and shaping how a company uses its data.
What's in it for you?
  • Senior‑level responsibility with significant autonomy.
  • Highly competitive salary
  • Opportunity to define the data function within the research team.
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Extremely flexible working arrangement – Belfast office, remote first but must be located in NI
