Job summary

Databricks seeks a Field Engineer to drive technical engagements with customers across the UK. You will build relationships, demonstrate the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, and guide customers through evaluation phases and architecture decisions.

You will collaborate with Account Executives and Senior Solutions Architects, travel to client sites ~20–30% of the time, and grow into an independently operating Solutions Architect.

Qualifications

• Experience in Data Science, Generative AI, ML, Data Warehousing or Data Engineering.
• Ability to work in a pre-sales or post-sales role with external clients.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java or Scala.
• Familiarity with major public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Form relationships with clients to provide technical and business value with sales teams.
• Perform hands-on evaluation and Spark programming, integrating with cloud ecosystem and 3rd party apps.
• Contribute to building a Databricks technical community through workshops and meet-ups.
• Become a Big Data Analytics advisor on architecture and design aspects.
• Author reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications for customers.
• Develop technically and in pre-sales to become an independently operating Solutions Architect.
