Overview

Cyber Operations purpose is to support safe care and build public trust by building NHS England's cyber resilience and enabling the wider health system to be cyber resilient, supporting NHS England's purpose of delivering the best care and outcomes for the NHS.

The Cyber Operations sub-directorate consists of 4 operational areas:

• Cyber Security Operations Unit (CSOU)
• Cyber Delivery Unit (CDU)
• Cyber Improvement Programme (CIP)
• Chief Information Security Office Function (CISO)

This role is in the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) which is part of the CSOU and provides centralised security monitoring across both NHS England and the wider health and care system in England. The CSOC consists of Protective Monitoring, Threat Operations, Incident Management, Service Operations and Engineering.

To support our strategy to improve NHS cyber resilience, we are recruiting for a Senior Security Analyst who specialises in Service Delivery Management as part of the CSOC Service Operations team.

The post of Senior Security Analyst for Service Delivery has been awarded a Recruitment and Retention Premia (RRP) in response to current labour market conditions. In recognition of this, the role attracts an additional monthly RRP payment equal to 20% per annum. Please be aware that RRP is non contractual and subject to review.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Security Analyst for Service Delivery, you will manage the relationships with all CSOC customers, ensuring that the CSOC capability and service levels are aligned to their needs and expectations:

• Primary CSOC customer engagement for all monitored systems.
• Produce regular service reports for customers, chair regular service reviews with customers, ensure suitable service delivery metrics are provided and manage arising actions.
• Own the governance process to assess customer services' readiness for live CSOC monitoring, ensuring that quality criteria are met and follow-up actions are implemented.
• Supervise heightened oversight activities during the initial period of services' live monitoring.
• Ensure that CSOC service incidents (internal and customer facing) are appropriately identified, reported, prioritised, investigated and managed through to resolution.
• Produce regular internal service performance reports for CSOC senior stakeholders.
• Maintain strong working relationships with CSOC's customers and stakeholders at all levels.
• Develop and document business policies, processes and procedures to govern, manage and guide CSOC Service Operations.
• Continuous service improvement, including procedural documentation and KPI reporting.

All NHS England Cyber Security personnel must hold Security Clearance level as a minimum. To meet National Security Vetting requirements, SC clearances require 5 years continuous UK residency. In certain cases, this can be reduced to three years continuous UK residency, with additional overseas checks for the previous two years. Candidates who were posted abroad for service with HM Government, Armed Forces or within a UK government role - will still be considered. Please make sure you meet these requirements before applying for this role. You dont need to have SC already, however, failure to achieve the requirements for SC after offer will result in the job offer being withdrawn. Essential

• Proven knowledge of the strategies, accountability framework, organisational structure and processes used to encourage proper behaviour in IT activities and operations, and ability to implement IT systems and controls to meet business needs and requirements.
• Demonstrable knowledge of and the ability to protect information and information systems while ensuring their confidentiality, integrity and availability.

Desirable

• Demonstrable knowledge of modules, processes and technologies of Information Security Operation Centre (ISOC); ability to detect, response and utilise related platform and applications to perform cyber security initiatives.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Proven knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organisation's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Desirable

• Proven knowledge of the processes, tools and techniques of information security management, ability to deploy and monitor information security systems, as well as detect, resolve and prevent violations of IT security, to protect organisational data.
