Job summary

Scott Logic is seeking a Senior Content Designer to shape and improve public services through clear, accessible and evidence-led content. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to understand user needs, design content across digital and offline journeys, and help ensure services work for the people who use them.

This senior delivery role requires planning and leading content design activities, engaging with stakeholders at all levels, and translating complex policy and regulatory information

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Senior Content Designer in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience planning and leading content design independently, including shaping proportionate content approaches for complex services.
• Strong understanding of user-centred design, accessibility, plain English, content testing and evidence-led iteration.
• Strong content design skills, including content auditing, journey mapping, prototyping, pair writing and creating clear service content.
• Ability to turn complex policy, process and domain information into clear content, guidance and service copy.
• Ability to work closely with user research, service design, product, business analysis, delivery and technical colleagues.
• Engage confidently with users and stakeholders, including operational, policy and delivery colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and deliver content design activities across public sector delivery teams.
• Create, edit and improve clear, accessible content across digital and offline service journeys.
• Collaborate with user research, service design, product, business analysis, delivery and technical colleagues to understand user needs and iterate content based on evidence.
• Turn complex policy, legal, regulatory and operational information into content users can understand and act on.
• Create and iterate content patterns, prototypes, guidance, forms, notifications, error messages and service copy where needed.
• Map content and service journeys to identify gaps, risks, assumptions and dependencies.
• Engage confidently with client stakeholders, including operational, policy and delivery colleagues.
• Champion accessibility, inclusion and plain English in content decisions within complex public sector programmes.
• Help grow Scott Logic’s User-Centred Design capability with reusable approaches and assets.
