Job description

Scott Logic is looking for a Senior Content Designer to help shape and improve public services through clear, accessibleand evidence-led content. You will work as part of multidisciplinary teams alongside user researchers, service designers, business analysts, product managers, delivery managers, engineers and architects to understand user needs, design content across digital and offline journeys, and help ensure services work for the people who use them.

This is a senior delivery role. The role sits within Scott Logic’s Product and User-Centred Design capability, which supports complex public sector programmes across the UK.

An opportunity to shape nationally important public services

One of the first opportunities likely to be available to the successful candidate is a major transformation programme supporting fisheries and marine licensing services in Scotland. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of product, business analysis, design, architectureand engineering specialists, you would help design content connected to vessel licensing, marine regulation, casework, policy requirements, operationalprocessesand digital service journeys.

Content design would help the team make complex services clearer, more accessible and easier to use for vessel owners, fishing communities, marine staff, operational teams and policy colleagues. The work will involve understanding complex service landscapes, mapping content and service journeys, testing content with users, and helping teams make practical decisions that are grounded in evidence rather than assumptions.

As with many public sector programmes, the challenge is not simply about technology. It is about understanding people, services, policiesand operational realities, then turning that understanding into clear content that helps users complete their goals.
