Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Chartered Civil Engineer to join our Civil Nuclear team.

You will contribute across the full nuclear asset lifecycle on major programmes, delivering infrastructure for new builds, waste management and decommissioning, with a focus on safe, compliant design. You'll work with civil, structural, geotechnical and energy engineers to develop concepts through to detailed design, mentor early career staff, and ensure quality outputs within regulated

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) or working towards professional chartership.
• Experience delivering civil engineering projects throughout the nuclear asset lifecycle with UK programmes.
• Experience in design and delivery of civil engineering solutions including site development, earthworks, drainage, highways, utilities and reinforced concrete structures.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards including British Standards, Eurocodes and nuclear-specific standards.
• Experience undertaking feasibility studies, optioneering, concept and detailed design activities.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and coordinate interfaces across complex projects.
• Understanding of design risk management, CDM regulations and health and safety principles.
• Strong technical report writing, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and review civil engineering designs that support projects throughout the nuclear asset lifecycle.
• Develop civil engineering solutions for site development, roads and access infrastructure, drainage, earthworks, utilities and reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Take responsibility for defined civil engineering work packages with high-quality outputs.
• Undertake feasibility studies, optioneering, site assessments and concept design activities.
• Coordinate civil engineering designs with structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical and process engineering requirements.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, technical reports, design risk assessments and health and safety documentation.
• Support design coordination, programme management, resource planning and delivery to budgets and timescales.
• Apply relevant standards and quality requirements within highly regulated environments.
• Work with clients, stakeholders and delivery partners to understand requirements and resolve technical challenges.
• Mentor and provide guidance to graduate and early career engineers.
• Contribute to technical improvement and knowledge sharing within WSP's Civil Nuclear capability.
