Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland seeks a senior Civil Engineer to lead civil engineering workstreams across nuclear programmes, from feasibility through to delivery. You will work within a multidisciplinary team addressing site development, earthworks, drainage, and structural solutions while ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards.

The role requires Chartered status, extensive nuclear lifecycle experience, and mentoring capabilities to develop teams and support strategic growth of WSP’s

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE).
• Experience delivering civil engineering projects through the nuclear asset lifecycle.
• Experience leading design and delivery of civil engineering solutions.
• Strong understanding of design codes and standards including British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Experience leading feasibility studies, optioneering, concept and detailed design.
• Ability to lead and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of design risk management, CDM Regulations and safe-by-design principles.
• Excellent technical report writing, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of civil engineering projects and multidisciplinary workstreams across nuclear programmes.
• Define civil engineering solutions for site development, drainage, earthworks, highways, utilities and structures.
• Provide technical leadership and assurance meeting client requirements and standards.
• Lead feasibility studies, optioneering, site assessments and concept design activities.
• Resolve complex technical challenges and guide project teams and partners.
• Coordinate civil engineering with structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical and process disciplines.
• Oversee preparation and review of calculations, specifications, reports and risk assessments.
• Build trusted client relationships and act as senior technical contact.
• Support proposals, fee development and work-winning activities.
• Mentor civil engineering teams and contribute to technical growth and capability.
