Job summary

WSP is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Civil Nuclear team in the UK. The role involves delivering Civil Engineering designs across the nuclear asset lifecycle, including new build, operations, life extension and decommissioning, with collaboration across structural, geotechnical, environmental and process disciplines.

The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership, and have experience with nuclear programmes and design

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
• Experience delivering civil projects through the nuclear asset lifecycle.
• Design delivery experience including site development, earthworks, drainage, highways and reinforced concrete.
• Knowledge of design codes including British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Experience in feasibility studies, optioneering, concept and detailed design.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage interfaces.
• Understanding of CDM regs and health and safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and review civil engineering designs across the nuclear lifecycle.
• Develop solutions for site development, roads, drainage, earthworks and structures.
• Take responsibility for defined work packages with high-quality outputs.
• Undertake feasibility, optioneering, site assessments and concept design.
• Coordinate designs with other engineering requirements.
• Prepare and review calculations, specs, reports and risk assessments.
• Support coordination, programme management and budgeting.
• Adhere to standards and quality requirements in regulated environments.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders and delivery partners to resolve challenges.
• Mentor graduate and early-career engineers.
• Contribute to technical improvement and knowledge sharing.
