Job summary

WSP is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Civil Nuclear team in the UK. You will deliver civil engineering designs across the asset lifecycle, from feasibility and concept to decommissioning, working with a multidisciplinary group of experts to solve complex infrastructure challenges in regulated environments.

The role emphasizes collaboration with structural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers while delivering safe, compliant, and innovative solutions for major nuclear projects.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) or working towards professional chartership.
• Experience delivering civil engineering projects across nuclear asset lifecycle.
• Experience in site development, earthworks, drainage, highways, utilities and structures.
• Knowledge of design codes including British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Experience with feasibility studies, optioneering, concept and detailed design.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and manage design risk.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and review civil engineering designs across nuclear lifecycle stages.
• Develop civil solutions for major nuclear infrastructure projects.
• Undertake feasibility studies, optioneering, site assessments and concept design.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to develop safe, innovative engineering solutions.
• Support integration of civil designs with structural, mechanical, electrical, and process requirements.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, calculations and safety documentation.
• Adhere to standards and quality requirements in regulated environments.
• Assist with project planning, design coordination and delivery within programme and budget.
• Build relationships with clients, stakeholders and delivery partners in nuclear/defence sectors.
• Support development of graduate and early career engineers and contribute to reputation of WSP’s Civil Nuclear capability.
