Job summary

CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is seeking a Senior Cisco Unified Communications Engineer in Portsmouth to own and resolve complex telephony and video conferencing issues in a defence environment.

You will support CUCM, Unity Connection, Jabber, IP Phones, Webex, TMS and Pexip, while handling SIP/H.323 connectivity and contributing to technical documentation and knowledge transfer across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience configuring Cisco CUCM, Unity Connection, Jabber and IP phones.
• Experience with Cisco Webex and video conferencing infrastructure.
• Experience with Cisco voice gateways and related telephony infrastructure.
• Knowledge of SIP and H.323 protocols in enterprise networks.
• Proficient in L2/L3 troubleshooting in large-scale environments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Level 2 and Level 3 incidents across Cisco telephony and video conferencing infrastructure.
• Support and maintain Cisco Unified Communications environments including CUCM, Unity Connection, Jabber and IP Phones.
• Manage and support Cisco Webex and video conferencing technologies, including TMS and Pexip.
• Investigate and resolve SIP and H.323 connectivity and configuration issues.
• Support hardware/software requests, infrastructure changes and ongoing projects.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures and knowledge bases.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to wider operations teams.

Senior Cisco Unified Communications Engineer

Rate: £515 per day inside IR35.

Contract: 4-month rolling.

Location: Portsmouth.

Active SC clearance is required for this role.

We're looking for a technically strong Cisco Unified Communications Engineer to support and maintain critical telephony and video conferencing infrastructure within a major defence environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll take ownership of complex technical issues, support enterprise collaboration platforms and help ensure the continued reliability and performance of essential communications services.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and resolving complex Level 2 and Level 3 incidents across Cisco telephony and video conferencing infrastructure.
• Supporting and maintaining Cisco Unified Communications environments, including CUCM, Unity Connection, Jabber and Cisco IP Phones.
