Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Cisco Telephony & Videoconferencing Engineer to join a Defence-focused technical team, delivering secure voice and collaboration services on site in Stevenage.

You will lead Cisco UC projects, support incidents, and drive improvements across CUCM, Unity, Jabber, CMS, and TMS within secure Defence networks. The role is on-site in Stevenage with a daily rate of £850 and requires Active SC clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' Cisco experience in enterprise environments.
• Expertise in CUCM v12.5, Unity Connection, Jabber, IP Telephony, CMS, TMS and video endpoints.
• Strong SIP and H.323 knowledge.
• VMware v7/v8 experience.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale voice and video collaboration solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and implement Cisco Telephony and Video Conferencing projects.
• Act as SME for Cisco Unified Communications.
• Troubleshoot incidents and support major incident management.
• Root cause analysis and service-improvement initiatives.
• Produce/maintain HLDs, LLDs, and docs.
• Hardware/configuration testing.
• Mentor engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Defence stakeholders on critical services.

We are looking for an experienced Cisco Unified Communications Engineer to join a Defence-focused technical team supporting secure, business-critical voice and collaboration services.

This role will focus on the delivery, support, and continuous improvement of Cisco telephony and video conferencing platforms, ensuring resilient communications across secure Defence networks. You'll lead project implementations, support major incident resolution, and provide technical expertise across complex Cisco UC environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and implement Cisco Telephony and Video Conferencing projects.
• Act as an SME for Cisco Unified Communications technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents and support major incident management activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
• Produce and maintain HLDs, LLDs, and operational documentation.
• Perform hardware and configuration testing.
• Provide technical mentoring and knowledge transfer to engineering teams.
• Work closely with Defence stakeholders and service management teams to support important communications services.

Essential Skills

• 5+ year's experience within Cisco environments.
