Job summary

CBSbutler Ltd. are seeking an experienced Cisco Unified Communications Engineer for 100% onsite work in Stevenage, supporting Cisco telephony, UC and videoconferencing in a secure MOD/UK environment. The role is a long-term contract through Dec 2027, paying £800 per day inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Cisco experience.
• CUCM v12.5 expertise.
• Unity Connection and Jabber experience.
• Jabber and IP Phones familiarity.
• CMS and videoconferencing endpoints experience.
• TMS experience.
• SIP/H.323 experience.
• VMware v7/v8 experience.
• Experience with Kurmi, Telisca, Prognosis, PeterConnects and monitoring tools.
• Willingness to work 100% onsite in Stevenage; SC clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and supporting Cisco Telephony & Videoconferencing projects.
• Providing specialist support to L1/L2 teams on complex incidents.
• Leading major incident resolution, including RCA and action planning.
• Supporting problem management and continual service improvement.
• Troubleshooting Cisco UC, voice and video environments.
• Producing and maintaining HLD, LLD, and technical documentation.
• Performing hardware and configuration testing.
• Providing knowledge transfer to engineers and technical teams.
• Working closely with technical leads, SDMs and customer stakeholders.

Cisco Unified Communications Engineer

Onsite in Stevenage, Hertfordshire
£800 per day inside ir35
Active SC clearance essential - MOD SC preferred

We are looking for an experienced Cisco Collaboration Engineer to join a secure, high-profile technical environment in Stevenage, supporting Cisco telephony, unified communications and videoconferencing services.

This is a long-term contract through to December 2027, offering the opportunity to work on both project delivery and complex operational issues within a technically demanding environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Delivering and supporting Cisco Telephony & Videoconferencing projects
• Providing specialist support to L1/L2 teams on complex technical incidents
• Leading major incident resolution, including RCA and action planning
• Supporting problem management and continual service improvement
• Troubleshooting Cisco UC, voice and video environments
• Producing and maintaining HLD, LLD, and technical documentation
• Performing hardware and configuration testing
• Providing knowledge transfer to engineers and technical teams
• Working closely with technical leads, SDMs and customer stakeholders

Key Technical Experience

We're looking for strong Cisco collaboration experience, including:

• 5+ years' Cisco experience
• Cisco CUCM v12.5
• Cisco Unity Connection
• Cisco Jabber
• Cisco IP Phones
• Cisco Meeting Server (CMS)
• Cisco videoconferencing endpoints
• Cisco TMS
• SIP / H.323
• VMware v7/v8

Experience with Kurmi, Telisca, Prognosis, PeterConnects, real-time monitoring tools, WAN/LAN networking or network security would be advantageous.

Security Requirements - Essential

Due to the nature of the environment:

• Active UK SC clearance is essential
• Sole UK national only
• Candidates must have spent no more than 28 days outside the UK during the last 5 years
• MOD SC clearance is preferred
• 100% onsite in Stevenage is required
• Must be able to work PAYE through an Umbrella company

We're looking for someone who is technically strong, methodical and comfortable working on complex incidents and projects. You should have excellent communication skills, a strong customer-service mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider technical team.
