Durham Careline is seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker to supervise Support Workers and provide person-centred care for residents with complex needs. You will work with families and healthcare professionals to ensure safe, high-quality support while promoting dignity and independence.

The role offers permanent, full-time hours (40 per week) at Evenwood, Bishop Auckland, with DBS checks and opportunities for professional development. We value teamwork and a compassionate approach to care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in health or social care.
• Experience providing personal care and daily living support.
• Experience of supporting individuals with complex needs or challenging behaviours.
• Caring, patient and empathetic approach.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in different situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Leadership experience and ability to support other workers.
• Commitment to dignity, independence and person-centred care.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and support Support Workers, helping to maintain high standards of care.
• Provide person-centred support to residents with a range of complex needs.
• Support individuals who may present with behaviours that can be challenging, following care plans.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities, promoting dignity and independence.
• Safely administer medication and maintain medication records.
• Help develop and review care plans, risk assessments and support plans.
• Support residents with mobility and physical disabilities.
• Organise and encourage participation in activities and outings.
• Attend MDT meetings and contribute to care planning and reviews.
• Work alongside nurses, healthcare professionals, families and other team members.
• Record incidents and report changes or concerns regarding wellbeing.
• Support mealtimes and assist residents as required.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, health and safety.
• Medication training and competent handling and administration - essential.
• Experience in health or social care setting.
