Job description
Overview

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. You will contribute to Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care across our homes, helping residents live with security, dignity and independence. You will know residents and their families, support personalised care plans, and lead a team of Care Assistants to maintain the highest standards of care. You will assist with activities such as teaching use of a walking frame, supporting end-of-life care, and communicating with residents’ families, always with kindness. You will work with the Registered Nurse and Care Manager to provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, and may administer medication.

One of your key responsibilities is to maintain accurate records and build strong relationships with your team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain high standards of care.
  • Plan and implement personalised care for residents, ensuring security, dignity and independence.
  • Assist residents with daily needs, including mobility and nutrition, and communicate with families as required.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Nurse and Care Manager to provide activities and stimulation for residents.
  • Administer medication as directed and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of your work and contribute to a cohesive team environment.
Qualifications
  • Ideally have a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care (S/NVQ) or equivalent, with progression toward Level 3 in Adult Care.
  • Experience in person-centered care planning and knowledge of care for people with dementia.
  • Strong record-keeping, time-management and communication skills.
  • Positive energy and ability to get along with residents, families and colleagues.
