Job description
Senior Business Analyst - Private Client Lending (Mortgage Origination Platform)

Investec is a distinctive Specialist Bank serving clients principally in the UK and South Africa. Our culture gives us our edge: we work hard to find colleagues who\'ll think out of the ordinary and we put them in environments where they\'ll flourish. We combine a flat structure with a focus on internal mobility. If you can bring an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to learn and collaborate to your work, this could be the boost your career deserves.

Overview

The Private Client Lending Technology team is delivering IMPACT, a digitally enabled, end-to-end Mortgage Origination Platform for high-net-worth clients. We\'re seeking a Senior Business Analyst with proven system rollout experience, capable of thriving in a modern AI-accelerated delivery environment. It would be desirable to have mortgages or lending experience, though not essential. You\'ll work closely with business and technology teams to ensure regulatory standards, business objectives, and client needs are met, using collaborative prototyping and AI-enabled design tools to gather, validate, and iterate requirements.

What will you be doing?
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Private Bank, Credit, Operations, Compliance, Legal and Risk to elicit and validate mortgage origination requirements.
  • Use AI-enabled prototyping and collaborative design tools to gather, refine, and document requirements, moving beyond traditional BA methods.
  • Create and maintain user stories and acceptance criteria aligned with regulatory (MCOB, ESIS) and business objectives.
  • Map and optimise lending workflows, including contract variations and complex security structures.
  • Facilitate workshops, prototype walkthroughs, and playback sessions to validate solutions.
  • Support system testing, validation, and adoption in partnership with QA and Product teams.
  • Deliver training and change support to ensure organisation-wide adoption.
  • Stay up-to-date with mortgage industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging AI practices in business analysis.
What are we looking for?
  • Proven experience rolling out or implementing a Mortgage Origination System (vendor or in-house), including configuration, testing, and adoption.
  • Deep knowledge of the end-to-end mortgage origination lifecycle (applications, credit decisioning, affordability, ESIS generation, operations handover).
  • Solid understanding of UK mortgage regulation (MCOB) and its implications for requirements and system design.
  • Familiarity with AI in the SDLC-accelerating requirements analysis, prototype generation, and documentation.
  • Ability to operate in an agile, fast-moving environment with non-traditional requirements methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills; able to influence, negotiate, and collaborate across teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complexity and build shared understanding.
Desirable, but non-essential skills
  • Experience in Private Banking or High Net Worth lending.
  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 CRM (beneficial but not required).
  • Exposure to cloud-native architectures (Azure preferred) and API-driven systems.
  • Experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Azure DevOps or JIRA.
  • Professional certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA) and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) advantageous.

As part of our collaborative & agile culture, our working week is 4 days in the office and one day remote.
