Job summary

A multi‑disciplinary building consultancy in Great Bowden is looking for a Chartered Surveyor to lead and manage projects from inception to completion. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage building surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Conduct detailed condition surveys, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide clients with clear advice on remedial works.
  • Oversee tendering, procurement, and the administration of construction contracts.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and schedules of work for refurbishment, maintenance, and new‑build projects.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering professional advice and fostering strong, lasting relationships.
  • Mentor and supervise junior surveyors, supporting their professional development and contributing to the growth of the team.
  • Ensure all projects meet statutory requirements, building regulations, and health & safety standards.
  • Assist clients with funding applications for school maintenance and capital works projects.
Qualifications
  • RICS Chartered Surveyor status (MRICS/FRICS) or working toward it.
  • Proven experience in building surveying, ideally across education, commercial, or heritage sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, construction technology, and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and client‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Leadership qualities, with experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff.
