Job summary

Immunocore is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation to advance biopharmaceutical protein analysis. The role focuses on HPLC-based peptide mapping, LC-MS/MS characterisation of antibodies, and glycosylation profiling across microbial and mammalian systems.

The candidate will develop and implement analytical methods, coordinate testing programs, and contribute to reports and cross-functional discussions to enable the company’s Biologics programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing HPLC-based peptide mapping methods and MS characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications in biological systems.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expertise in electrophoretic/chromatographic/mass spectrometry techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop HPLC-based peptide mapping methods and MS characterisation for biopharmaceuticals.
• Perform glycosylation analysis and protein characterisation.
• Coordinate testing of protein biomolecules across systems (microbial and mammalian).
• Contribute to characterisation method development for biopharmaceutical products.
• Summarise data, write reports, and present findings to the team.
• Mentor colleagues and share new analytical knowledge.
