Qualifications

• HCPC registered with suitable experience at a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist level or above.
• Ideally hold a Level 7 qualification in a relevant subject; equivalence in experience will also be considered.
• Experience in microbiology, virology, molecular and mycology diagnostic tests is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the throughput of workflow through the laboratory.
• Lead a team of Biomedical Scientists and Assistant Healthcare Scientists.
• Teach, train and develop laboratory staff.
• Work independently to problem-solve.
• Diagnose using the most current scientific methods.
