Job summary

Join M-KOPA Mobility as a Senior Backend Engineer to scale our e-mobility platform. This is an initial 12-month Fixed Term Contract with potential extension or transition to permanent role.

Build event-driven microservices powering riders and entrepreneurs across Africa. You'll work with a tech stack including C#/.NET in Azure, with exposure to Kafka/Kafka-like messaging, Kubernetes, Docker, and observability tools.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of C# .NET development.
• Experience with event-driven systems (Service Bus, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Microservices architecture experience.
• Experience with Azure or AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Testing and deployment expertise.
• DevOps culture mindset.
• Experience using Claude Code or similar AI coding tools.

Responsibilities

• Build event-driven microservices powering transport tech.
• Own solutions end-to-end from architecture to production monitoring.
• Combine cutting-edge .NET development with purpose-driven engineering.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure scalable backend systems.
