Job summary

Hippo is seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer to join the Managed Services team. You'll lead data engineering for client projects, build robust data pipelines, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Fabric, Data Factory, SSIS, SQL Server and CI/CD, with a focus on reliability and scale. As part of Hippo, you contribute to secure, well‑engineered platforms while collaborating across strategy, design and technology.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and maintaining production data pipelines.
• Strong SQL performance tuning and query optimisation.
• Python scripting for automation and tooling.
• Hands-on with Fabric, Data Factory, SSIS and DAG-based orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering workstreams within Managed Services.
• Design robust CI/CD for data workflows and deployments.
• Troubleshoot data pipelines across multiple client environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data issues into actions.
• Ensure reliability, security and performance of data platforms.
