Job summary

Hippo is a rapidly growing digital consultancy seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Hippo Herd. You will lead data engineering delivery within a multidisciplinary team, building secure, scalable data platforms and mentoring others to maintain high standards.

You will act as a Senior Consultant to deliver data engineering services, driving technical excellence and collaborative problem solving across public and private sector clients. Join a culture that values learning, impact and agility.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering data engineering solutions in Python and another core language.
• Strong expertise with SQL and relational databases.
• Solid experience with cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with Snowflake and dbt.
• Hands-on experience building reliable, scalable data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile environments and CI/CD practices.
• Proficient in TDD/BDD methodologies and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production of data software based on business requirements and best practice.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver innovative data solutions.
• Maintain client relationships and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Design and manage data pipelines, spotting bottlenecks before they arise.
• Present prototypes and progress clearly to stakeholders.
