Job summary

Hippo is seeking Senior Java Developers to join our multi-disciplinary teams delivering user-centred digital solutions across the UK. Youll act as a senior consultant, shaping technical delivery, mentoring others, and maintaining client relationships while championing best practices.

Youll work across the full development lifecycle as a strong communicator, building pipelines and collaborating with engineers to design, deploy, and refine services including microservices and REST APIs.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, able to articulate in technical and non-technical terms
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle delivering user-centred digital solutions
• Proven full-stack capability using Java and modern frontend tech
• Experience with JavaScript libraries/frameworks like Node/React/Angular is desirable

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical SME within the squad to deliver user-centred software based on business requirements
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver client solutions
• Design and manage software development and deployment pipelines to prevent bottlenecks
• Communicate progress and prototypes clearly to stakeholders
• Build relationships with team and stakeholders and resolve challenges
• Involved in recruitment and mentoring of other engineers
• Promote Hippo’s Engineering Herd through blogs, workshops, conferences
