Hippo is a rapidly growing digital consultancy delivering transformative digital solutions for public and private sector clients. We are recruiting a Senior Python Developer to join our Hippo Herd and help solve complex problems with strategy, design and technology.

You will lead Python development within multidisciplinary squads, mentoring peers and delivering robust, scalable services. Expect engagement across full stack, CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments while collaborating with diverse

Qualifications

• Proven Python development experience within delivery teams.
• Experience coaching and guiding others on best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in technical and non‑technical terms.
• Extensive experience across full development lifecycle delivering user‑centred solutions.
• Advanced full‑stack skills using Python, HTML, CSS & JavaScript.
• Experience with modern JS frameworks (Node, React, Angular).
• Strong containerisation and microservices experience (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in RESTful APIs and agile methods (Scrum/Kanban/TDD).
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and public clouds (AWS/Azure).
• Proficient in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Lead the production of user‑centred software based on business requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to design and deliver solutions.
• Manage software development and deployment pipelines, resolving bottlenecks.
• Communicate prototypes, solutions and progress clearly to stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and support consultants in their professional development.
