Hippo is a rapidly growing digital consultancy delivering transformative digital solutions. We are recruiting for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Hippo Herd in the Managed Services Team.

You will shape the architectural vision and technical strategy for clients and internal practice, influencing C-suite stakeholders and defining architectural standards. You will act as a Lead Consultant, providing technical expertise in DevOps and engineering practices, mentoring teams, and driving pre-sales

Qualifications

• Senior-level DevOps/Technical Architect with large-scale transformation experience.
• Expert proficiency with AWS and multi-cloud architectures.
• Python for automation and scripting.
• Hands-on Kubernetes (EKS) and advanced CI/CD tooling.
• Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform for complex deployments.
• Ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and define architectural standards.
• Security, networking and governance in cloud contexts.

Responsibilities

• Define and evangelise architectural vision, standards, and best practices across Hippo's delivery practice.
• Advise senior client stakeholders, guiding long-term technical strategy and digital transformation.
• Lead complex technical engagements with oversight and quality assurance for automated infrastructure.
• Mentor and coach DevOps engineers and senior engineers.
• Drive pre-sales and shape opportunities through technical responses.
• Contribute to Hippo's thought leadership via talks, writing, and community involvement.
• Make key architectural decisions impacting multiple projects or clients.
• Lead recruitment and ensure strategic contribution of Managed Services teams.
