Job summary

The Citation Group is seeking an experienced AI Architect to lead architectural decisions across AI/Data initiatives. You will operate within the AI/Data architecture area, closely aligned with delivery teams and reporting to the Chief AI Officer.

The role emphasizes architectural governance, production readiness, and cost-aware engineering across complex AI systems. Responsibilities include setting standards, approving designs, and coordinating with security, product, and engineering to ensure

Qualifications

Senior level with 6+ years in software, data or platform engineering/architecture, with hands-on production AI experience.
Ability to influence architecture decisions across multiple domains without direct headcount.
Experience reviewing vendor Statements of Work and governing AI delivery in practice.

Responsibilities

Architectural standards and patterns across AI systems and platforms.
Own design patterns for retrieval/grounding, agent orchestration, prompts and guardrails.
Develop a framework for model selection (open‑weight vs frontier) per workload.
Manage token spend, cost-per-outcome, and observability for AI solutions.
Ensure security and compliance are foundational in all AI initiatives.
Own data architecture readiness for AI across systems like Salesforce and Atlas.
Provide governance and design authority in initiative discussions with urgency and clarity.
Oversee production quality, observability, and incident response for AI in production.
