ROLE OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF JOB

A multi-jurisdictional team responsible for delivering accountancy services to a large portfolio of private client structures/entities for a single client.

Services include traditional accounting activities such as reconciliation, bookkeeping, trial balance preparation, financial statement preparation and review, as well as additional services like bank statement sourcing, valuation input, and monthly valuation generation. The Edinburgh team primarily handles bookkeeping, trial balance, and financial statement preparation and review for entities with high complexity or quarterly reporting requirements.

The team utilizes technology to automate some bookkeeping activities, with oversight and reconciliation of automated processes also performed.

This is a high-volume client with tight deadlines, requiring timely delivery and high standards of client service. The role involves working efficiently and independently on allocated tasks, managing workload proactively.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Maintain accurate information in key systems, including bank statements, transactions, bookkeeping, and financial reports for a portfolio of clients.
  • Perform manual entry of bookkeeping transactions from client bank statements and review automated bookkeeping entries.
  • Raise and resolve queries promptly, liaising with team members or clients to ensure timely resolution within deadlines.
  • Prepare information for clients, such as portfolio details, bookkeeping data, trial balances, or financial statements.
  • Handle work for more complex entities or areas.
  • Participate in calls and meetings with clients to discuss issues and track work progress.
  • Support junior team members and the team manager as needed.
  • Adhere to JTC core values and expected behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
