Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs in the South Leeds area. The role may be day-to-day or long-term to help pupils engage with their education and reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will have SEN experience, strong behaviour management skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, with a patient and adaptable approach. CPD opportunities and competitive pay are offered.

Responsibilities

Are you a patient and adaptable Special Needs Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships with pupils?

We are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant who is open to day-to-day work or a long-term role. The successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping to manage behaviour, encourage engagement and provide effective support both in and outside the classroom.

The successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant will have:
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
  • Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
  • A willingness to support pupils according to their individual needs
