Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant at a SEND school in Newark, supporting secondary-aged students with a variety of additional needs, predominantly Autism/ASD. The role is full-time, temp-to-perm, Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.

The successful candidate will work closely with students and staff to provide individual and group support, helping students access learning and progress, with a patient, resilient approach and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience supporting students with Autism / ASD.
• Confidence supporting secondary-aged students.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group support to students with SEND to access learning.
• Assist staff in implementing individual education plans and strategies.
• Monitor student progress and behaviour to help develop confidence and engagement.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school based in Newark, supporting secondary-aged students with a variety of additional needs, predominantly Autism / ASD. The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment focused on helping students develop their confidence, independence and engagement with education.

The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with students and staff to provide individual and group support, helping students with a variety of SEND to access learning, manage their individual needs and make positive progress.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Experience supporting students with Autism / ASD
• Confidence supporting secondary-aged students
• A patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A flexible and adaptable attitude
