Job summary

Botley School in Oxfordshire is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our SEND Resource Base. The role supports pupils with communication and interaction needs, working alongside the SEND Teacher and SENCo to help learners access the curriculum and gain independence.

The post is a 12-month fixed-term contract, 30 hours per week across 38 weeks per year, with a Grade 6 salary scale.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Willingness to undertake SEND training including Team Teach.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND in the Resource Base and in class.
• Deliver targeted interventions and small-group learning sessions.
• Support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.
• Adapt learning activities and monitor progress toward EHCP outcomes.
• Collaborate with families and external professionals to support outcomes.
• Promote wellbeing and positive behaviour.
