Job summary

Teach Plus Limited in Hounslow is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a SEND-focused classroom starting ASAP. You will support a small group of 6-8 pupils with Autism, SLCD, and non-verbal communication needs, helping with learning, independence and emotional development in a structured, inclusive setting.

The role requires a patient, proactive approach and collaboration with Teachers and the SEND team to tailor learning plans and ensure consistent progress for every child.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND.
• Minimum of 3 months UK experience working in a school setting.
• Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex SEND, including Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, and non-verbal communication needs.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated and individualised learning activities.
• Develop positive relationships with pupils, encouraging communication, independence, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Implement individual support strategies and follow personalised learning plans to meet each child's specific needs.
• Promote a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment, supporting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and other professionals to monitor pupil progress and provide consistent support throughout the school day.
