Job summary

Five Education seeks a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with SEND in a well-resourced South Gloucestershire school. The role focuses on aiding learners with Autism, ADHD, and speech and language needs, building communication, social skills, and independence.

You will work under guidance to adapt activities, manage challenging behaviour, and foster a safe, inclusive environment for all students throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEND, especially Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and physical disabilities.
• Calm, nurturing approach with resilience and empathy to support diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support aligned with EHCP targets.
• Adapt learning materials and teaching methods to suit various learning styles.
• Support students in communication, emotional regulation, confidence, and independence.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and the SENDCo to implement effective support strategies.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment throughout the day.
• Supervise students during breaks and lunchtimes, ensuring wellbeing and inclusion.
