Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Oxford is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive secondary school team. You will work with teachers and the SEND team to provide tailored support for students with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of SEND including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
  • Patient, compassionate and adaptable with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Supporting students with learning, communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Helping implement individual support plans and EHCP targets.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and resilience.
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers and SENDCo.
  • Building positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
  • Supporting students during lessons, breaktimes, visits and school activities.
