Job summary

Five Education is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs in Oxfordshire. The role focuses on autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and physical disabilities, with a strong emphasis on inclusion and student wellbeing.

The successful candidate will 1:1 or in small groups, adapt materials, support communication, and work closely with staff and the SENDCo to implement effective strategies.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting young people with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Calm, flexible, nurturing approach to supporting varied needs.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and promote wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support aligned to EHCP targets.
  • Adapt learning materials and teaching approaches for diverse learning styles.
  • Support development of communication, emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and SENDCo to implement effective strategies.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment throughout the day.
  • Supervise pupils during break and lunch times with a focus on wellbeing.
