Job summary

Five Education are seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of SEND needs in Bicester, Oxfordshire. The role involves 1:1 and small-group work, adapting materials and strategies to meet individual targets, and promoting independent skills and confidence.

Ideal candidates will have SEND experience, particularly autism, and a calm, patient approach. This position offers a supportive team and opportunities for specialist training and safeguarding compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEND, particularly Autism, and confidence with challenging behaviour.
• Calm, flexible, and nurturing approach to supporting students with complex needs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Passion for inclusion and helping every learner thrive.
• Resilience, patience and proactive attitude towards wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support in line with EHCP targets.
• Adapt learning materials to varied learning styles and needs.
• Support students in developing communication, emotional regulation and independence.
• Collaborate with staff and SENDCo to implement effective support strategies.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
• Supervise breaks and lunch times, ensuring wellbeing and inclusion.
