Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a Newark-based secondary SEND school. The role is full-time, temp-to-perm, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, supporting students with Autism/ASD and other needs to access the curriculum.

You will work closely with staff to deliver individual and group support, helping students manage their needs and make positive progress in a supportive environment.

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience supporting students with Autism / ASD.
• Confidence supporting secondary-aged students.
• A patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school based in Newark, supporting secondary-aged students with a variety of additional needs, predominantly Autism / ASD. The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment focused on helping students develop their confidence, independence and engagement with education.

The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with students and staff to provide individual and group support, helping students with a variety of SEND to access learning, manage their individual needs and make positive progress.
