Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for a Newark-based SEND School in Nottinghamshire. The role covers day-to-day and long-term supply to support pupils with a range of additional needs.

You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver targeted interventions, helping pupils build confidence, independence and positive engagement in learning within a supportive environment. PAYE payroll ensures correct tax and National Insurance, with market-leading pay rates and ongoing CPD

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Good understanding of a variety of SEND.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to support pupils with challenging behaviours where required.

Responsibilities

The schools are looking for passionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support them for both day to day and long term supply.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism / ASD, learning difficulties, communication needs, PMLD and SEMH, working closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support, deliver interventions and encourage positive engagement in learning.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
