Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist primary school in the West Midlands region (Telford) to support children with Autism/ASD and Severe Learning Difficulties. The role is part-time and temporary with ad hoc hours, offering flexibility around your availability.

You will assist primary-aged pupils, helping them access learning, follow individual support strategies and build independence while working with a dedicated team offering 24/7 onboarding support and CPD

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people with additional needs.
• Experience supporting Autism / ASD and/or Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD.
• Understanding of supporting pupils within a primary school environment.
• Patient and caring approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist primary school in Telford supporting children with Autism / ASD and Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD. The school provides a supportive environment focused on meeting the individual needs of its pupils and helping them engage positively with their education.

The school is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a part-time, temporary ad hoc basis, offering flexibility around the successful applicant's availability. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support primary-aged pupils with Autism / ASD and SLD, helping them access learning, follow individual support strategies and develop their independence.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
• Experience supporting Autism / ASD and/or Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD
• A good understanding of supporting pupils within a primary school environment
• A patient and caring approach
• Strong communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability
