Job summary

Hargate Healthcare Ltd in Braintree, Essex is seeking a SEND Teacher to join a specialist school supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and complex needs. You will tailor learning to each learner and work within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Role focuses on personalised lessons, EHCP outcomes, safeguarding, and collaboration with families, therapists and teaching assistants to build confidence and independence for every pupil.

Qualifications

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching children or young people with SEND.
• Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning.
• Good safeguarding knowledge and understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
• Calm, creative and adaptable teaching style.
• Confidence supporting pupils with varying communication, emotional and sensory needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons.
• Work towards individual EHCP outcomes.
• Adapt learning for different abilities and communication styles.
• Support emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
• Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews.

Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Are you a Teacher who believes building trust and confidence is just as important as academic progress?

We're recruiting a passionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist school supporting children and young people with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs and complex needs.

You’ll have the freedom to adapt your teaching and create personalised learning that genuinely works for each young person.

The Role

• Planning and delivering engaging, personalised lessons
• Working towards individual EHCP outcomes
• Adapting learning for different abilities, communication styles and sensory needs
• Supporting emotional regulation, confidence and independence
• Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP reviews
• Creating a calm, nurturing and inclusive classroom
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and other professionals
• Using positive, needs-led approaches to behaviour and engagement

What We're Looking For

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and the SEND Code of Practice
• A calm, creative and adaptable teaching style
• Confidence supporting pupils with differing communication, emotional and sensory needs

Experience within a specialist SEND, SEMH or alternative provision would be particularly welcomed.
